History of Colorado

The history of Colorado is very interesting. Life in Colorado started about 20,000 years ago in the eastern part of Colorado. Very little about the people is known to date due to it being 20,000 years ago. By AD 800 their was Pueblo tribes living in Colorado. The tribes were advanced in pottery making and agriculture. The homes of these tribes were very unique; they were made inside caves and were apartment like.

 

The eastern part of Colorado stay wilderness for part some time.After some time that Colorado had entered statehood their was silver strikes in Leadville and Aspen. Settlers then came to Colorado and so did the money. In the early 1860's resorts were starting to open up near the mineral spriongs. But before that, railroads had to be built and accessible. Gold struck in 1891 at Cripple Creek after many business's shut down due to the overproduction of silver.

 

After World War I, the agriculture and mining sectors fell into a depression. Employment soon declined shortly after.
